“The conditions the first few days made it difficult for everyone but I feel like Under Armour equipped me with all the right tools to keep my performance levels up even in such terrible conditions,” said Ramsay, who relied on the Storm 2.0 Zip Jacket, Storm 2.0 Pant and Evo Coldgear Compression mock.
I think the R1 Driver is one of the best drivers that TaylorMade has produced. And now you can choose black R1 Driver or white r1 driver. They produce two models. But i take the white one, i think it is the best decision i have ever made.

the R1 feels more forgiving and the sound at impact is a loud, but strangely likeable, high pitched crash that forcefully announces that you are on the tee and have just pulverised the ball. Also if a golfer changes their swing they do not have to change drivers, they can simply adjust the R1 accordingly. While the first claim will undoubtedly take some time to become fact, the second is based off of data from TaylorMade’s own club-fitting system. This is an incredibly simple, yet remarkably complicated idea all at the same time. A force of substance and subtlety, the equipment industry’s innovation leader has outdone itself again. Since the user is misled, they are welcoming unwanted slices and fades. When you change the loft you will also be changing the face angle of the club so if you don’t like the way it sits at address then you use the new sole plate to adjust that too. So back to the question. The answer to how much adjustability is enough lies with what adjustability promises to deliver to the consumer – a proper fit.
TaylorMade sights studies that indicate that frequently when a driver face appears square to the golfers eye at address, that in fact that is often an illusion and the face is open which can lead to an unwanted fade or slice. The company says the prototype was popular with pros. They still found the R1 easy to align because the leading edge of the crown is still plain white and the face is still black. The other major enhancement to the new R1 drivers involve what TaylorMade is calling ‘shot-shaping movable weights’.

With his two-shot victory at the Valero Texas Open, Martin Laird became the first golfer to win on the PGA Tour using TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 Driver.
Stage 2 usage on the PGA Tour could exceed that of R1. The center of gravity has been moved lower and forward, and the entire clubhead is more aerodynamic this year. It looks different. It looks powerful. The stock shaft is the 50-gram Fujikura RocketFuel, and TaylorMade confirms that this light shaft, combined with the mass properties of the driver, will create a moderate draw bias for consumers.
Optimizing performance through adjustability is a huge theme with the TaylorMade R1 Driver. The torque wrench, used to make adjustments, is quickly becoming a staple in the golf bag. There is no loft number stamped on the clubhead. That’s because every R1 driver can be adjusted for loft between 8.5 and 12.5 degrees. The R1 also has seven face angle positions. It’s a huge deal that the driver allows loft and face angle to be adjusted independently of one another. Lie angle also can be changed.
RBZ Stage 2 driver is the new crown alignment decals. Combining the new 4,100mm black clubface, the new decals have been developed in accordance with Dr. Steve Hitzeman, Professor of Sports Optometry. Using their own MAT-T (Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade) system, TaylorMade engineers carefully positioned the layout of the new decals to create effective visual cues for alignment.
Whilst the design of the crown may demand a lot of attention, inside the crown TaylorMade made even more upgrades. The crown thickness now varies from 0.6mm to 0.4mm (previously a consistent 0.6mm on the R11S and RocketBallz Tour drivers). This process saved three grams of weight, making the clubhead even faster through impact.

J.B. Holmes found his way back to the PGA Tour winner’s circle more than two years after going through brain surgery. TaylorMade are now offering their popular, “loft-up” TaylorMade SLDR White Driver.
The SLDR White will be exactly the same as the standard Taylormade SLDR driver in terms of specs, size and weight, with the addition of a white crown colour. TaylorMade want to offer the same low-forward centre of gravity, advanced adjustability and low-spinning performance of the SLDR driver in a colour that may be preferred by some golfers.
Many may wonder why TaylorMade are launching a new driver that is identical to a previous driver with a new crown colour, however this is not the first time they have taken this approach. Having launched the TaylorMade R11 Driver, taylormade r11s driver and R1 drivers in white, they then offered a black version of the TaylorMade R1 Driver designed for players who preferred the darker, more traditional look at address.
The white crown with black button-back delivers a remarkable appearance at address. Many golfers fell in love with white when it came out in 2011, and now we are delivering a limited edition white SLDR with low and forward CG for more distance when you loft up.
J.B. Holmes had just the kind of putt you’re supposed to miss under the gun. A mediocre chip on the 230-yard, par-3 17th left him a 10-footer with about a foot of break to try to save par. Holmes had a two-shot lead over Martin Flores and Jim Furyk, and Flores was in good position pin high and just off the green.

“I couldn’t be more tickled for him,” says short-game guru and top-50 teacher Dave Stockton, who helped Holmes re-tool his pre-putt routine in 2010. “J.B. looked fantastic. He might have taken a shade more time in between shots down the stretch, but that didn’t impact what he did when he was actually playing his shots. When he got over the ball, you didn’t see any hesitation. He saw his line and let it go. Playing with TaylorMade R1 Driver, he actually had the ball rolling so quick that he caught me off guard a few times. You could tell he was getting his reads, trusting it and pulling the trigger.”
Holmes’ previous issue with the putter was one common to many players at every level. “When you’re over the shot and you hesitate, you bring doubt into your mind,” Stockton says. “You start second-guessing what you’re doing, and you’re giving more time for the pressure of the situation to get to you. Once you’ve picked the shot you’re going to hit, you want to see it and get in there and do it.”
The 32-year-old Spaniard, who claimed his first victory on American soil since ousting Paul Goydos in a playoff at the 2008 Players Championship, raced into contention with a flawless second-round 63 before taking control of the event with weekend rounds of 66.

But the discount golf clubs that has often been a cause for concern in the past for Garcia was the one that shone brightest at the weather-interrupted event, as the Spaniard ranked second in putts-per-round with a stellar average of 26.8 on the lightning fast greens. “I made some really good four and five-footers when I had to,” said the newly-promoted World No.17, who was wielding the TaylorMade Ghost Tour.

“When I first tested the new crossflex shoe I didn’t want to take them off,” he added. “They are by far the most comfortable golf shoes I’ve ever worn; they feel more like a running shoe.”

Generally speaking, the r11s driver and r11 driver are all great drivers from taylormade. Someone said the r11s is better than the r11, while someone do not think so. No matter which one you choose, the most suitable one is the best one for yourself.
The 2011 R11 driver is made up of a 440-cc head with the classic white crown and blend with the black color. The r11 driver released earlier than the r11s driver. Therefore, the club should also do a better job of helping golfers maintain ball speed on mishits. But both of them get the adjustable feature. TaylorMade SLDR Driver is the first that can realize 3D tuning. These three technologies enable r11 driver to promote up to 100 yards of side-to-side trajectory change and ±1,000 RPM backspin change.
The head volume is different from each other. The three dimensions are activated through three main technologies. They are Flight Control Technology (FCT), Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP) and Movable Weight Technology (MWT). However, the R11S hits the USGA’s maximum legal size, 460cc. The TaylorMade R11S driver has the white crown and black clubface that the company has been using a lot lately, a color combo that TM says helps improve alignment while also making the clubhead appear slightly larger than it really is. And it has a slightly-larger sweetspot than the previous R11. Slightly Open (Open+), and Slightly (Closed+). There are two main ports in the R11S with one in the heel and one in toe. While last season’s R11 had a red adjustable plate on the sole that allowed golfers to choose from three face angles, the TaylorMade R11S Driver has five settings: Neutral, Open, Closed, The function is to hold the one- and the 10-gram weights that come with the driver.
Finally, the sole of the 2011 R11 driver has a red adjustable plate that allowed golfers to choose from three face angles. Positioning the 10-gram weight in the heel encourages a draw while screwing it into the toe should help you hit a fade. According to the TaylorMade designers say the R11s a little longer than the cheap golf clubs R11 with the bigger head combined with better aerodynamics. FCT helps adjust the loft, ASP helps tune the face angle and MWT adjusts center of gravity location.

After releasing the full SLDR line of woods and successful Rocketballz Stage 2 driver, fairway woods and hybrids, Taylormade debut the TaylorMade’s JetSpeed metalwoods.
The taylormade jetspeed driver is the first to feature TaylorMade’s speed pocket technology, which goes all the way through to the sole of the club head and aims to reduce spin and increase speed and distance, especially on mis-hits. It is also the only club in the line to offer adjustability, a sudden must-have feature on most new drivers.
If you’ve paid any attention to current driver technology, you already know that there has been a bit of an about-face with the location of the center of gravity (CG) in the last year. TaylorMade led that charge with the introduction of the SLDR in the summer of 2013. While this may seem a bit excessive, according to TaylorMade executive Sean Toulon, the JetSpeed line was constructed as more of a compliment to the newer TaylorMade SLDR Driver and represents a “total departure” from the Rocketballz.
Explaining the change in direction, TaylorMade says that low-forward cg location “has been proven in previous TaylorMade drivers to generate faster ball speed and lower spin compared to the low-back CG that has for years been accepted as the best location for promoting distance. Because low-forward also promotes a lower launch angle, most players will have to “loft up” to realize the full distance-enhancing benefits of JetSpeed.”
The JetSpeed Driver was tested on the golf course and using a Vector X launch monitor. The club tested was 9.5° in loft with the stock Matrix Velox in stiff flex. As discussed earlier, low-forward CG placement does have a negative effect on MOI and the JetSpeed was not immune to that, even with the addition of the Speed Pocket. While low face forgiveness was better than expected, lateral misses were still punished somewhat severely.
As a player that relies on accuracy rather than length off the tee, this proved to be troublesome at times. A typical scenario on a toe miss was a ball that started low, hooked quite severely, and then chased either off the fairway or out of play. Center impact was consistently accurate for the most part, even with the longer shaft, but a high-toe miss proved to be rather penal.
Picking up the JetSpeed driver for the first time, it is noticeably lighter, which of course is a result of TaylorMade wanting to promote a higher swing speed. This is not to say if feels too light or whippy, it just doesn’t feel like you are swinging a mallet.
